Performance art is similar to drama, poetry or punk music a form of a specific, unique and artistic expression of a dialogue with surrounding world. Performance Crossings offers basic insight to various forms of performance art with accent to understanding of their stylistic principles and establishing mutual communication between performer and spectator / between a thought and its performance.
„We want to bring together people who work within performance art, live art and other related forms and get them closer with the wider audience who is not familiar / understandable with such kind of art. Our goal is to cleanse terminological ambiguities connected with the terms like performance art, live art, performance studies, performative arts and offer to the audience a possibility of better understanding of their main points. To involved artists we propose a platform for intergenre communication that accents what we find important - the articulation of contemporary topics and finding a proper forms for such expressions.“ comments the curator Petr Dlouhý and Antonín Brinda.
In four festival days the festival offers a wide range of performances by the international artists that would take part at the Prague’s Cross Club. Wednesday the 3rd will also bring several performance in public space in Holešovice and other city districts of Prague.
