AEPH // Bio
As a denizen of the Eternal City of Rome, the teenage Aeph had immersed himself in the frenetic sounds he’d discovered on the bleeding edge of the Drum & Bass and Electronica scenes. Inspired by international new wave of acts such as Phace, Spor and Noisia, Aeph relocated to the electronic music heartland of London.
From his UK base he conducted his own sonic experiments fusing modern electro riffs, Drum & Bass and Dubstep. Combining his innate technological savvy, an ear for melodic intricacy and a penchant for the pathos and scale of movie sound tracks, he sought to synthesise the super tight production ideals of Daft Punk with the rock rush energy of The Prodigy. The "Aeph" sound is a dark melodic mixture of classic composition and surrealistic synthesizers, a retro futuristic vision of music combined with ultra modern riffs, great versatility and a finesse that rivals his role models.
The results of these experiments came thick and fast via several releases on uber-cool labels such as Bad Taste Recordings, Lifted Music and brought him to get involved in the production of one of the Hadouken!'s new album single, "Bad Signal", nominated Zane Lowe's world hottest record on Bbc Radio 1 and released on Ministry Of Sound. Last but not least, he also has been commissioned to provide the soundtrack to IBM’s Lenovo ‘Yoga’ laptop worldwide TV and cinema advert, directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, GoldenEye, Green Lanterns On The Lake). Catapulting him to prominence on the underground dance scene, both as prodigious production talent and as an international DJ playing in Europe's top club nights.
NUMA CREW // Bio
Numa Crew is a collective of djs, producers and one mc, pioneers of the italian dubstep scene and one of the landmarks of the national independent music scene.
Their musical research focuses on bass music, with influences that range from sound system culture, to hip hop and UK underground music.
The collective, founded in 2005 in Florence, starts releasing several 12" vinyl for the label Elastica collaborating with artists such as Zion Train and Dub Sync.
Later the crew creates Erba Records, a white label principally devoted to reggae-dubstep, D'n'B and Jungle sounds, which is flanked by two other discographic projects, Voodoo Rebel and Digital Smokers, exploring all contaminations of global bass music.
Meanwhile, they release on many other national and international labels such as EMI Italy, Moonshine Records, Irish Moss Records, Police in Helicopter, NoMad Records and Convoy Unltd, and collaborate with many artists including Subsonica, Daddy Freddy, Horace Andy, KG Man, LNRipley, Digi G'Alessio, Almamegretta, Dub FX, Casino Royale, Antiplastic, Illbilly Hitech, Ckrono & Slesh.
Numa Crew performs regularly in Italy and often across national borders, sharing the stage with the main acts of the international scene.
Their music is supported on radio networks such as BBC Radio 1 and Rinse FM, and they have been broadcasting live on SubFM for three years, sharing a radio show with their friend and collaborator DJ Foster.
Coming out on 2014, their first album will feature Dub FX, Mr. Lexx, Echo Ranks and many more...
